Much has been written about this famous tome, and I will not try to say it all again. Many of us grew up with this book. If you are familiar with the AD&D Monster Manual, you have an idea what this book is like. If you have watched TV shows like Supernatural or Grimm, just imagine the reference books they often pour through.If you or your kids enjoy fantasy, this makes a fantastic coffee table book.
I've had a copy of this since I was a kid. I have also bought a copy for many people, particularly parents. A wonderful collection of the stories we've told ourselves and each other for centuries. Beautifully illustrated. This book is a must for mythology enthusiasts.
It is an encyclopedia of the things that never existed, so if you are a curious person, like sci-fi or have a great imagination and enjoy stories, myths and stuff like that you will definitely enjoy having this book.
When my children were growing up this book afforded many campfire reads. I have purchased this book for several students who, fascinated by mythology, would not read anything. Massive correction in attitude. I love the fact that global stories open doors to cultures usually not addressed.
